Terms & Legal
Terms of Service, legal notice, and cancellation policy for autokeyworder.
Terms of Service, legal notice, and cancellation policy for autokeyworder.
These Terms govern your use of the autokeyworder Chrome extension and associated services. By creating an account or purchasing credits, you agree to these Terms. Governing law: Federal Republic of Germany.
These General Terms and Conditions ("Terms") apply to all contracts between Philipp Schlüter, Grabbestraße 5, 33189 Schlangen, Germany (hereinafter "Provider," "we," or "autokeyworder") and users of the autokeyworder Chrome extension and API services (hereinafter "User" or "you"). The Provider operates as a sole proprietor (Einzelunternehmer) under German law.
autokeyworder is a Chrome browser extension that uses artificial intelligence to generate metadata, titles, keywords, categories, and descriptions, for stock images and videos, and fills this metadata directly into the upload forms of supported platforms.
By registering an account, purchasing credits, or using the extension, you accept these Terms in their entirety. Deviating terms of the User shall not apply unless expressly agreed in writing.
Use of autokeyworder requires a user account. Registration is available via email and password or Google OAuth. You must provide truthful and complete information during registration.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. All activity under your account is your responsibility. You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
Each person may maintain only one account. Creating multiple accounts to exploit referral programs, promotional codes, or free credits constitutes a material breach of these Terms.
autokeyworder provides AI-generated metadata for images and videos uploaded to supported stock photography and print-on-demand platforms. Currently supported platforms include Adobe Stock, Shutterstock, Zedge, Displate, and TeePublic.
The service operates on a pay-as-you-go credit system. Each image analysis consumes 1 credit. Each video analysis consumes 3 credits. Credits are consumed at the time a successful analysis is returned.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue supported platforms at any time. We do not guarantee compatibility with future platform updates, as form-filling functionality depends on third-party DOM structures.
Credits are available in the following bundles:
All prices are final prices. In accordance with § 19 UStG (Kleinunternehmerregelung), no value added tax (VAT) is charged or shown. Payments are processed securely via Stripe. Credits are added to your account balance immediately upon successful payment confirmation.
Credits do not expire and are non-transferable between accounts. You may purchase credits as one-time packs or subscribe to a monthly plan (Starter $6.99/mo, Pro $19.99/mo, Studio $49.99/mo). We reserve the right to adjust pricing for future purchases with reasonable advance notice.
As a consumer within the European Union, you have a statutory right of withdrawal for distance contracts under §355 BGB. Please refer to the Widerrufsbelehrung section for full details.
Waiver for digital content: Credit purchases constitute digital content not delivered on a physical medium (§356 Abs. 5 BGB). During the Stripe checkout process, you will be asked to expressly consent to immediate delivery of credits and to acknowledge that this consent extinguishes your right of withdrawal. Credits become available immediately upon payment.
If you do not consent to immediate delivery, your credits will be delivered after the 14-day withdrawal period has elapsed.
For unused credits where the right of withdrawal has not been waived, you may exercise your withdrawal right within 14 days of purchase. See the Widerrufsbelehrung for the procedure.
For purchases where the withdrawal right has been waived (immediate delivery consented to), refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis at our discretion. Requests must be made within 7 days of purchase to [email protected]. Credits already consumed cannot be refunded.
In the event of a refund, any referral credits earned by a referring user from your purchase will be automatically clawed back.
Credits are charged atomically: the system verifies your balance, deducts the credit cost, and records the transaction in a single database operation. If an AI analysis fails (network error, API timeout, or platform issue), no credit is deducted.
Re-processing the same image on the same platform does not result in a double charge. The system enforces idempotency via a unique constraint on user and asset identifiers.
Promotional codes may grant free credits subject to terms specified at the time of distribution, including maximum redemptions, expiry dates, and single-use-per-user restrictions.
The referral program allows users to earn credits when referred users make their first credit purchase. Referral rewards are subject to a 72-hour verification period, a one-reward-per-referee limit, and refund clawback provisions. Referred users must sign up within 30 days of clicking a referral link for the referral to be attributed. Abuse of the referral system, including self-referral, referral rings, or buy-and-refund schemes, constitutes a material breach of these Terms and may result in account termination and forfeiture of all credits.
You agree to use autokeyworder only for its intended purpose: generating metadata for content you have the right to upload to stock platforms. You shall not:
The autokeyworder extension, backend service, AI prompt library, and all associated code, design, and documentation are the intellectual property of the Provider. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights.
The metadata generated by the service (titles, keywords, categories, descriptions) becomes your property upon generation. We claim no rights over AI-generated metadata outputs.
Your images are processed transiently and are not stored, cached, or used for AI training. Image data is sent to OpenAI's API for analysis and discarded immediately after the response is returned.
autokeyworder provides AI-generated metadata as-is. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or search-ranking effectiveness of generated keywords, titles, or categories. Metadata quality depends on image content, platform algorithms, and factors beyond our control.
Our liability for damages is limited to the amount you paid for credits in the 12 months preceding the claim, except in cases of intent or gross negligence. This limitation does not apply to damages resulting from injury to life, body, or health, or to liability under the German Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz).
We are not liable for damages arising from platform changes that break form-filling functionality, temporary service outages, or changes to third-party APIs (including OpenAI).
We process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG). For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
You may cancel a contract at any time without signing in, using the button Verträge hier kündigen (cancel contracts here), or by contacting [email protected]. Upon termination, unused credits are forfeited unless a refund is requested and approved within the conditions of §6.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, particularly in cases of referral abuse, automated scraping, or fraudulent payment activity. We will provide notice of termination and the reason, except where immediate action is required to prevent ongoing harm.
We may modify these Terms with at least 30 days' notice. Changes will be communicated via email to your registered address. If you do not object within 30 days of notification, the modified Terms are deemed accepted. We will inform you of this consequence in the notification.
Material changes to pricing, credit consumption, or liability provisions will be highlighted separately. If you object to a modification, you may terminate your account and request a pro-rata refund of unused credits.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). Mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country in which the User has their habitual residence shall remain unaffected.
For disputes with consumers, the courts at the consumer's place of residence shall have jurisdiction. For all other disputes, the exclusive place of jurisdiction is Schlangen, Germany.
We are neither obligated nor willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board (§36 VSBG).
Should any provision of these Terms be or become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall not be affected. The invalid provision shall be replaced by a valid provision that comes closest to the economic purpose of the invalid provision. The same applies to any gaps in these Terms (salvatorische Klausel).

autokeyworder is a Chrome extension that uses artificial intelligence to generate metadata (titles, keywords, categories, descriptions) for stock photos and videos. This privacy policy informs you about which personal data we collect, process, and store in connection with our service.
We only process personal data to the extent necessary to provide a functioning service, to fulfil contractual obligations, or due to legal requirements.
3.1 Account Data
During registration, we collect your email address and a hashed password (for email registration) or an OAuth token (for Google sign-in). We also store the date of account creation and a unique user ID.
Legal basis: Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
3.2 Payment Data
Payments are processed through Stripe, Inc. We do not store credit card numbers or bank details. We only store Stripe session IDs, transaction amounts, and timestamps on our servers to document credit additions.
Legal basis: Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
3.3 Usage Data
We store your credit balance, job records (image asset IDs, generated metadata, timestamps), credit history (purchases, consumption, redemptions), and referral data (referral code, referral status).
Legal basis: Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
3.4 Image Data
Images are transmitted temporarily to the OpenAI Vision API for analysis. Images are scaled to a maximum of 512 pixels (longest side) before transmission. Videos are extracted as 5 individual frames. Neither we nor OpenAI store images permanently. OpenAI processes API requests under its zero-retention policy, images are discarded immediately after the response is returned and are not used for AI model training.
Legal basis: Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
3.5 Technical Data
When using our service, technical information is automatically collected: IP address (for referral fraud prevention), browser type, time of access. This data is not linked to your user profile unless required for fraud prevention.
Legal basis: Legitimate interest in fraud prevention and system security (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
We use the following third-party providers as data processors to deliver our service:
Location: San Francisco, California, USA
Purpose: Authentication, database hosting (account data, balances, jobs)
Data: Email, hashed password, credit balance, job history
Safeguards: Data processing agreement (DPA) in place. EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) pursuant to Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR.
Location: San Francisco, California, USA
Purpose: AI-powered image analysis for metadata generation
Data: Scaled images (transient), no personal data in the strict sense
Safeguards: Zero-retention policy for API usage. EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs). Images are deleted immediately after processing and are not used for training.
Location: San Francisco, California, USA
Purpose: Payment processing for credit purchases
Data: Email address, payment information (credit card/bank details)
Safeguards: PCI DSS Level 1 certified. Data processing agreement (DPA) in place. EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs). Stripe acts as an independent data controller for payment data.
Location: Mountain View, California, USA
Purpose: Google OAuth authentication (only for Google sign-in)
Data: Google account email, OAuth token
Safeguards: EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
Personal data is not shared with any other third parties unless we are legally obligated to do so (e.g., by court order or regulatory authority).
Our sub-processors are based in the USA, a country without an adequate level of data protection within the meaning of the GDPR. Data transfers are based on EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) pursuant to Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR.
We regularly assess whether the safeguards provided by our sub-processors meet the current level of protection (Transfer Impact Assessment).
The autokeyworder website (autokeyworder.com) does not use cookies and does not employ tracking technologies.
The Chrome extension uses chrome.storage.local to store authentication tokens (access token, refresh token) on your device. This data only leaves your device for authentication with our backend. This is not a cookie within the meaning of the ePrivacy Directive but technically necessary local storage.
When active on a supported platform (Adobe Stock, Shutterstock, Zedge, Displate, TeePublic), the extension reads image URLs and existing metadata from the page and writes AI-generated metadata (title, keywords, category, description) into the platform's upload form fields. No page content is transmitted to our servers beyond the image URL required for analysis.
Stripe may set its own cookies during the checkout process. For details, please refer to Stripe's privacy policy.
Metadata generation is performed by artificial intelligence (OpenAI GPT with Vision). This constitutes automated processing of image data but does not constitute automated decision-making with legal effect within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR. Generated metadata are suggestions that you can review and edit before saving on the respective platform.
Under the GDPR, you have the following rights:
